Good morning HR!

The 2021 School Law Conference is in the books.  We had strong attendance, fabulous keynote speakers and extremely relevant breakout sessions.  It was nice to be in person again, albeit masked and taking precautions.  For those of you unable to attend, we missed you!

Like all of you, I am curious as to what next week will bring.  If there is anything I can do to assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will be thinking of you and sending positive, calm thoughts.

Substitute Resources

A district is wondering how other districts handle IEP days.  Does the teacher get a substitute for IEP preparation, meetings, etc., or do they get paid for an additional day for these activities?

A district is wondering if any other districts have a resource for Substitute Guidelines. 

  • Do they get paid for a certain number of hours?
  • Can they cover a class if they are willing rather than getting paid?
