SUPPORT, ADVOCACY, AND PROFESSIONAL LEARNING FOR THE K-12 HUMAN RESOURCE PROFESSIONAL

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR MESSAGE

WSPA has a new look! We recently switched membership platforms from MemberClicks to AssociationSphere.  Although our look has changed, the quality of content and customer service you receive hasn't. In order to access the full benefits of our new platform you must do two things: Renew your WSPA membership and create a member portal. Find out how in the WSPA News to Know section below.

Another change you will notice this year is with the WSPA this Week email.  As you may recall, there were several iterations of that publication last year.  This year, I am going to try and blog our WSPA this Week email each week.  You will receive an email on Monday mornings.  In it, there will be a link to the WSPA this Week blog which will be housed on this website.  Previous week's blogs will be archived allowing you the ability to go back and find previous information.

IEP Days

Substitute Resources

A district is wondering how other districts handle IEP days.  Does the teacher get a substitute for IEP preparation, meetings, etc., or do they get paid for an additional day for these activities?

A district is wondering if any other districts have a resource for Substitute Guidelines.

  • Do they get paid for a certain number of hours?
  • Can they cover a class if they are willing rather than getting paid?
  • How long can you use a long-term substitute?
